Meet the Maker: Catalina

Founded by Chilean designer Catalina Marin, brings the textile traditions of Chiloé into a contemporary context — honouring a craft shaped by landscape, natural fibre, and skilled handwork.
Working with artisans on the island, creating rugs, throws, and cushions using 100% wool from Chilota sheep. The fibre is valued for its strength, softness, and natural warmth, giving each piece both texture and permanence.
Wool is washed, spun, dyed, and woven by hand, allowing the character of the material to remain visible throughout. Colour is drawn from the landscape itself, with natural dyes derived from bark, leaves, roots, mineral elements, clay, and moss, creating earthy tones and quiet variation.
What sets Treko apart is the integrity of its process. These are textiles with weight, texture, and a strong sense of origin — refined pieces that retain their raw, tactile beauty.
At aépho, we’re drawn to objects with substance. Treko’s textiles embody that beautifully: grounded, textural pieces made to bring warmth, calm, and lasting character to a space.
